artmix9 final exhibition at saarländische galerie in berlin with a moment of silence

“artmix” offers a studio-residence of several months in the two border towns luxembourg and saarbrücken. the aim is to create artistic exchange between artists in the border regions.

the residents of the exchange program pursue their projects and establish or deepen their works in progress.

the project was developed in 2005 together with the ministry of culture of luxembourg and the state capital saarbrücken.

within the ninth edition of the scholarship, artmix9, the artists elena bienfait, daniel henrich, anina rubin and véronique verdet shared their residencies and studios. one of rubin’s works that was created during the residence was shown at the final exhibition at the saarländische galerie in berlin.

the installation of anina rubin, a moment of silence, deals with opposing meanings of silence. if ambient noises as well as any impressions from the outside of a human being diminish, the noise, the words and the conscience that are circling inside this human being become louder and more alive than ever before.
