glitch art is the practice of using digital or analog errors for aesthetic purposes by either corrupting digital data or physically manipulating electronic devices.

in how to generate and/or use errors in digital images, or sounds. some daw’s let you even open images and play their sound. i have worked with many different techniques, but eventually there was one way that got me into glitch art.
there is especially this one reason why I fell in love in creating image glitches. the process gives the opportunity to hide messages, letters, symbols, or – in my case – lyrics and poems inside a picture.
there are different ways to open an image file. either by using an image viewer software or by using a text editor (or hex editor, or …).
for a while, i decided to go with text editors. when the digital image file is being opened, it shows the picture’s code. i then added lyrics or poems in between the thousands of lines of coding. afterward, i would either leave the image as is or use parts of it for bigger collages.
